I love my new front teeth! Dr. Alex replaced some very old fillings with porcelain crowns that look beautiful. Now I can smile with confidence vs. embarrassment!

I have been coming to Tyson’s Dental for several years now. I originally picked this office because I worked in the area, but now I work in DC and still come here because everyone is so nice and professional. Some dental offices make you feel as if they are just going through the motions or recommending things you don’t need, just because. Not Tyson’s dental, they seem to really care about their patients here and give honest recommendations and the best care possible. Hina always takes time to explain payment options, which I think is awesome!

We have been patients of Tyson Dental Associates for over a year. State of the art technology and highest professional quality of services always provide us with the sense of satisfaction and comfort much needed when one visits dentist’s office.
We would like to commend Dr. Alex Osinovsky and all his staff for an excellent work they do.
Our special appreciation goes to Ms. Mariela Pedraza, whose patience and constant warm attention to patient’s needs represent a required quality of real physician, unfortunately rare and rapidly diminishing in current world. Also it often seems that Ms. Pedraza’s professional skills and knowledge go far beyond her immediate duty as doctor’s assistant, which gives patients she attends additional certainty that they are in good hands.
Thank you, Mariela. We wish you glorious and speedy advance in your career.

1. Existing bone loss due to periodontal disease or abscess: If bone has already been lost from inflammation or infection, it is best to immediately graft the site following tooth extraction. It is much easier and cheaper to correct the defect at the time of tooth extraction than reconstructing it later which requires more invasive and expensive procedures.
2. Following extraction of teeth in the upper front area (smile zone): The bone is extremely thin in this area and following tooth loss, the bone almost always shrinks and diminishes in dimension. This results is inadequate bone and gum tissue and poor aesthetic results, no matter what the replacement option. Immediate bone grafting will prevent bone and gum tissue shrinkage and the unsightly defects that results. Bone graft will preserve the bone dimension and gum line creating a natural and cosmetic result following implant replacement.
3. Delayed implant placement: If a tooth has been extracted and there is normal healthy bone, but the patient does not desire implant placement right away for whatever reason, then the site should be grafted. This is done to preserve the bone and prevent it from shrinking. An implant can be easily placed later with predictable results. If not grafted, a defect can result, making it much more difficult and more costly to correct later.
I have used Tysons Dental as my provider since 2008. Dr. Alex and his staff have provided excellent service. I had extensive oral surgery; Implants, crowns, etc,; a year ago and it was quite successful. However, I would like to describe a recent event which demonstrates his commitment to his patients.
While brushing my teeth one day I discovered a hard foreign substance in my mouth. Upon examination I found it was a small piece from a broken screw. My first thought was that part of my recent oral surgery had broken loose so I went to Tysons Dental with the piece. I was seen almost immediately. Turns out the screw was part of an implant that was installed by another dentist approximately 15 years ago and the screw had broken off leaving part in the implant. Dr. Alex outlined the possibilities which ranged from quite expensive, replace the entire implant with an up to date appliance, to moderate. The moderate option depended upon whether Dr. Alex could “tease” the part of the screw within the implant out and install a new screw. Using a dental probe he was able to remove the remainder of the screw and install a new one. I appreciate the fact that he could identify and accomplish the least expensive and least inconvenient alternative.

Dr. Alex and his staff have been kind and caring. I had terrible anxiety about seeing a dentist, but they put me at ease from my first visit. I had 2 implants, a bone graft, and a crown done while sedated. I had very little pain afterward and am very pleased with the results. Trenna and Mariela are wonderful, as is Dr. Alex. I can’t recommend Tyson’s Dental enough.

If you dread going to the dentist, than you are going to the wrong place. I love going to the dentist at Tyson’s Dental. The staff is amazing, friendly, and always available to answer my questions. My hygienist, Trenna, not only gets her job done well and with a high level of professionalism but makes me laugh and have a good time during the whole process. If you are looking for a good dentist, search no further than Tyson’s Dental.
